Our Ministries

Together in love, justice and peace

Our mission is to share God's love, foster spiritual growth, and serve our community with compassion and purpose.

Even as we have fun together, Holy Communion Lutheran takes God’s mandate to love our neighbor seriously. As God’s forgiven ones, we commit ourselves to living out our baptismal calling by serving all people, following the example of Jesus, and sharing in God’s mission for justice and peace in the world. We partner with other expressions of the ELCA to address both domestic and global issues of hunger, poverty, and refuge. On the local level, we serve our neighbors through:

Our Ministries

Keeping Our Church Running Smoothly

Backpack Ministry

We provide small bags or “backpacks” of healthy, easy-to-prepare food for the students at Woodland Heights Elementary School who have been deemed food insecure on the weekends. We collect, assemble, and deliver backpacks each Thursday morning during the academic year.

Total Ministries

We partner with other churches, nonprofit groups, and volunteers to “Tell Others They Are Loved ” through this local ministry which provides food and financial assistance in Spartanburg County. We are one of the churches that collects peanut butter for Total Ministry’s food pantry.

Rebuilding Together

is a non-profit organization that rehabilitates the houses of elderly, disabled, and otherwise disadvantaged homeowners to provide for their continued safety and independence. Occasionally, we join in their mission of repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives.
